Three pathways into the coalition.

N50 runs as a working alliance — every meaningful program leans on a partner that brought time, skills, capital, or access. Pick the lane that fits, and you're in. There's no waiting list.

Volunteer your skills

If you can teach a class, configure a router, write curriculum, translate a training, or stand up a Wi-Fi mesh — we have a coalition partner who needs you this quarter.

  • Remote technical mentoring (4–8 hrs/month)
  • In-person training in a partner site
  • Translation & localization for AI tools
  • Field deployment & install support

Bring your organization in

If you run a telecom, a tech vendor, a foundation, an NGO, a research lab, or a public agency — there's an existing N50 working group that needs your seat at the table.

  • Technology & hardware partner
  • Implementing NGO partner
  • Research & measurement partner
  • Policy & advocacy partner

Fund a learner today

A single laptop puts a student on the network for four years. A classroom kit serves 40 learners. A regional program touches 8,000. Every gift is restricted to direct program cost — never overhead.

  • $120 — one device for one learner
  • $2,400 — one classroom kit (40 learners)
  • $25,000 — one regional pilot
  • $250,000+ — one country program

Common questions

Before you apply

Do I need to be in a specific country to volunteer?

No. About 70% of volunteer hours in 2025 were remote — translation, technical mentoring, curriculum review, video calls with partner-org teams. The remaining 30% were in-person, primarily through implementing partners that already had vetted volunteer programs in place.

What does "becoming a partner" actually require?

An MOU with the N50 working group your org is joining, a named coalition liaison from your team, and a contribution agreement (could be hardware, capital, software, training capacity, research, or policy work — not all four). We start with a 90-day pilot before signing a multi-year MOU. Most onboardings take 4–6 weeks.

How much of my donation goes to programs?

100% of restricted gifts are routed to the named program. Operating costs are funded separately through unrestricted institutional grants. The annual financials are audited by an independent firm and posted publicly each March.

Can my company sponsor a specific country or initiative?

Yes — corporate sponsorships at $250K+ can be earmarked to a specific initiative, country program, or measurement study. Below that threshold, gifts go into the pooled program fund for the initiative of your choice. Either way, you receive quarterly reporting.
